Cat Baskets from What Next

From The Wildwood Gazette

I recently moved into a new house in Second Life  and needed some furniture, I went looking over at *What Next*, as I really like the pastel shades that they do truthfully I just like it all.

I would  really like to have this style in my real home,Ah yes my real home overlooking the sea and perpetual sunshine.. ah well..no .. dream on.

Whilst I was there I saw one of the new products, which is a Cat basket and also a Cat suitcase. They are both scripted and texture change and copy, mod but no transfer. If you are a VIP member of the group you also get an additional discount on the other furniture on some items it is as much as 20%, there is a small fee to join 250L.

Well as you can see some of our kitties have the luck of the Irish upon them, this very cute Elegant, has a vivid green pelt, with slightly darker shamrocks and green eyes, and actually kinda cute, and I am not a great fan of green. You know what I really like the fact it has little green hair in it's ears, attention to detail, that is what makes a great cat.

The Gazette Posters

From The Wildwood Gazette

I am sure many of you are really good with Photoshop, I am still learning and sometimes it is a struggle with many clicks of the undo button.

but this set of posters for the blog came together quite easily, and because I am very pleased with the end result I thought I would share with you. The photo above is the original I took in world of a sleek tabby with folded ears.

From The Wildwood Gazette
  • Cut the cat out and replace him onto a black background
  • Resized it into a square from a rectangle
  • Painted the edges with black paint and then blurred it with Gaussian Blur

From The Wildwood Gazette
  • Add the font on two separate layers in white
From The Wildwood Gazette

  • On a third layer I added the features and coloured them
  • I took a sample of the colour and retinted the eye of the kitty
  • I slightly sharpened the whole image
  • and save.. taaa... daaa..!
I did'nt do any fancy footwork on these posters, all basic, but still that is the magic of Photoshop, even the faint of heart can use it and create great stuff.

The Pirate

Cool Displays

From The Wildwood Gazette

One of the most fun things about the Sims selling breedables are the cute displays that people make to home their cats.

I saw this one at Z Couture, totally loved the whole pirate theme, I played around with the wind light settings until I thought I found one that fit with the theme, it was called Pirate which I thought was apt. This particular display was created by Neo (neo.lancrae) and I think his store is called Neo Demonia Cat.

I have noted the slurl for you in case you would like to take a look.

If you happen to have a cool display or  have seen one recently, please do let me know, I would love to come and take a look.

Ear Ears Ears

Hot News, Inbred Ears
Meet Lugsy

From The Wildwood Gazette

From The Wildwood Gazette

So, in the forums and in  group chat inworld there has been a lot of talk about Inbred ears and if they pass down or if if they don't.

I have the final word here from Zilar Deluxe, from a chat inworld, yesterday.

Quote, Unquote,
Zilar Deluxe: While not all inbred cats will show up as inbred traits, they are not passable to the next cat and are in fact at random. The only way the inbred traits show up is if you breed Mother/Son, Father/Daughter, Sister/Brother. You can get ear combinations only at this time, but are worth trying for if you want a very special looking cat and worth collecting in the least. We plan to add more things in the future for this.

Zilar Deluxe: The new ears are not available until we release our update. Cats were mistakenly getting these random traits by pure mistake and will not show up properly.

Thanks to Zilar for clarifying this point, we appreciate it.

I also want to thank, ĴєѕѕÎє Stєрtοє (jessie.dannitza), for helping me out with her wonderful kitty Lugsy, who is pictured in our shots for this article. I am sure you agree with me when I say, Lugsy is one in a millon and absolutely adorable.

The Wildwood Forest Sim, Home to The Wildwood Breedables

I thought I would take you a little tour of the Wildwood Forest Sim, home to the Wildwood Breedables,

Firstly, there is a central landing point, shown below.
From The Wildwood Gazette
One of the cute features of the path is that each stepping stone lights up as you walk on it and then darkens when you pass by. You will reach a fork in the road, if you turn to your right and continue down the path you will reach the main store for the company. This building sells your starter kitty packs, as well as food, and other edibles, and most importantly the sick kitty pack, just in case something goes wrong with your little darling.Oh I almost forgot, the two boxes at the front of the store are Gifties, one is a pose stand you can use with your cat and the another is a teaser style cat toy.
From The Wildwood Gazette
From The Wildwood Gazette
Once you have finished in the store, you can follow the path back along the way you came and you will come to a little bridge and then to another fork, to your left is a large building called the Cat Sancuatery, it is empty at the moment, not sure what is happening with it. and on your left, after another short walk or fly, is the little marketplace, which has goods and lots of cute stuff for your kitties.
From The Wildwood Gazette
Now there is a secret place, which doesn't really have a path going to it, but it is definitely worth visiting. It is in the far right at the back  of the Sim, it is a gorgeous set of cat statues in ever increasing size around a a small river. I think if  you walk through the market stalls, and turn left a little there is a small bridge which will bring you to the statues.

I really suggest you go and look around if you haven't done so already, the Sim is really quite lovely.

~~*GIFT*~~ Sculpty Cat Tree

Cheeky Kitten Magical Pet Market

From The Wildwood Gazette

Last time I attended an auction at Cheeky Kitties one of the incentives they had was this supercutsey cat tree. The Auction house was randomly giving out gifts to the audience. I scored this gorgeous cat tree, up close the textures are really good, it really looks like suede, a fabric I am most fond off and I really like the sculpty effect, the rounded edges and the almost cartoon feel to it, I think it is a great prop for photographing your little darlings.

So I did actually come across Phedre's shop on the Wildwood Forest Sim, in the market stalls section, so this cute set comes in , Red,Purple,Blue and Pink cushions all on green stalks, It is weighing in at 11prims and will cost you 75lindens, permissions are mod and transfer, no copy.

UKS.. Unexpected Kitty Sightings.....

U.K.S.
From The Wildwood Gazette

So, Second Life and First Life are so similar as in  kitties pop up in unexpected places, I had to smile when I walked into Whippet and Buck to browse for some new clothes and there in the hallway are a couple of Kitties, Bill and Barbara and two little kitten baskets, I clicked them all, they are all for sale, 100L each, it's kinda cute really.

If you see anymore kitties in weird place, please take a snapshot and send me the Lm, I will blog it and credit you, could be a fun competition if I can think of a decent prize.
